Your first reaction was like "Yeah right..." right? Yeah we thought so as well. But it seems like it's true.
[blockquote]Six months ago, our team of three set out to make a better, longer-lasting button down.[/blockquote]
A NYC startup, Wool & Prince has developed a smart shirt that doesn’t crease or smell even after 100 days of wear.
The idea was simple. The company wanted to build a piece of clothing that was equivalent to a pair of jeans - that doesn't need a lot of washing and ironing after multiple wears. The company takes advantage of the natural qualities of fine merino wool (less coarse and scratchy than other wool materials in jumpers) instead of developing a new alternative material to regular cotton. The thread isn’t prone to breaking, wicks sweat away from the skin and retains its shape when crumpled. The whole science behind this is explained in its Kickstarter campaign.
The company was able to develop prototypes easily thanks to the founder's father who owns a wollen heavy duty shirts manufacturer Pendleton. With the material, they added a sense of touch for their button-down shirts and gave them out to 15 volunteers around New York City. The volunteers clubbed, visited family, and travelled in the Andes in these shirts. Founder Mac Bishop also wore a version of the shirt for 100 days without washing or ironing to prove his product.

After successfully capturing $314,241 from its Kickstarter campaign, the company is limiting production up to 3,000 shirts to assure the quality and customer service for its backers. The price of the this smart shirt seems to be around $98 ~ $120 USD depending on versions and bulk ordering. The company plans to make more products for those guys who are in need of this smart shirt.
