Self Made: Dertbag July 31 2013, 0 Comments

Phil Post is an 18 year old who is running his own brand shop called Dertbag. He was inspired to launch his own company upon watching an MTV documentary in the 4th grade, wherein Nigo gifted Pharrell with a chain; molding a sculpture of the Ice Cream piece himself.

His signature tie-dye t-shirts and bucket hats are a Dertbag signature at this point – teaching himself how to utilize all the design programs along the way.  After a successful pop-up shop at The Good Company earlier this year, Phil opened the first Dertbag retail store inside the Arcade Mall, Bridgeport, Connecticut this past Saturday.

Watch Maker Shinola’s Going Strong July 30 2013, 0 Comments

Despite the bankrupt crisis in Detroit, the local watch maker Shinonla seems to be going strong.  Shinola appears to be in fine health with the launch of its first New York City flagship in TriBeCa.

The Motor City's company filled its 2000 square-feet retail space with new lines of domestically-made watches, leather goods, bicycles and stationary.
